A chance to be an Academic Hub ?

It is likely that higher education almost this entire semester is going to be online in the US.A crisis is sometimes an opportunity too ! Instead of spending  many times the expenditure incurred in the country, staying far away, with the pandemic ruling the roost, swift changes in immigration visa rules, geo political uncertainties and losing precious foreign exchange, if the so called environs can be simulated here,it is a huge gain for the nation.The curriculum almost remains same for a given course across the globe but the methods of teaching and testing, infrastructure and interaction, industry orientation and institutional support for learning and earning differ.So equipping the institutions better with state of the art facilities and hiring faculty from top notch US universities if need be, would be  advantageous for countries like India. 

The government’s recent plan to allow the top 100 universities in the world to operate in India is a commendable initiative.The country has.many coveted  institutes in various fields,besides research organisations.With the advent of the new and prestigious institutes opening up their branches here, the entire academic milieu gears up for greater competitive spirit. The only thing is, the nation needs to ensure the needed ecosystems for this to materialise at an accelerated pace.

Our research in sciences should help in transforming the shape of the nation from a developping country to that of a developed one.Needless to say the two major economies US and China are virtually enjoying a global monopoly because of their indelible  foot prints in science and technology.The fact that majority of Nobel Prize winners in various fields are from US, speaks of the way the nation has shaped itself and reaped from the thrust on research.It is only through development in science and technology the nation can hope to aim high !

Now the nation stands to gain by becoming a global manufacturing hub not only for goods but also for personalities with education par excellence.
